Fair Housing
Equal opportunity in every transaction.
As a REALTOR® and a Military Relocation Professional (MRP), I am bound by the federal Fair Housing Act, the Alabama Fair Housing Law, the NAR Code of Ethics, and the policies of Weichert, Realtors® – The Space Place. I represent buyers, sellers, renters, and PCS families without discrimination.
Protected classes
It is illegal — and I will not participate in — discrimination in the sale, rental, financing, advertising, or showing of housing on the basis of:
- Race
- Color
- Religion
- National origin
- Sex (including gender identity and sexual orientation)
- Familial status
- Disability
- Military or veteran status (consistent with NAR policy)
What this means in practice
- I show every qualified buyer the homes that match their criteria, in every neighborhood they're open to.
- I write and present offers without regard to any protected characteristic of the buyer or seller.
- I do not "steer" buyers toward or away from neighborhoods based on protected class — you tell me what matters and I show you the options.
- I welcome service members and veterans using VA loans, and I do not let lender myths about VA financing get in the way of a clean offer.
- I will request and accommodate reasonable modifications and accommodations for clients with disabilities.
If you believe you've been discriminated against
You can file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) at hud.gov/fairhousing or by calling 1-800-669-9777. You can also contact the Alabama Attorney General's Office or a private fair-housing attorney.
If something I or my brokerage did made you feel that way, I want to know. Please email chris@move256.com or call 256-863-2313.
